Digital Camera: Moving Images


Recording Moving Images

  1. Examine the buttons, sliders and switches on the camera to familiarize yourself with how everything works. Gently press the “green” button in while sliding the switch down to turn the camera on.
  2. Make sure there is a 3.5 inch diskette in the camera. A message "NO DISK" will appear on the screen if you need to insert a disk.
  3. linkTo insert a disk, make sure that the metal part is first into the camera and the metal circle is facing away from you. Insert until it clicks.

    If you’ll be using a memory stick instead, slide the recording media selector from FD (floppy disk) to MS (memory stick). Open the memory stick panel and insert.

  4. Set the PLAY / STILL / MOVIE selector to MOVIE.

  5. Press the shutter button fully down. “REC” appears on the LCD screen, and the image and sound are recorded on the floppy disk.

    If you press the shutter button momentarily
    The image and sound are recorded for 5 seconds. The recording time can be set to 10 or 15 seconds with [REC TIME SET] in the menu settings.

    If you hold the shutter button down
    The image and sound are recorded while the shutter button is held down for up to 60 seconds. However, when [IMAGE SIZE] in the menu settings is set to [320x240], the maximum recording time is 15 seconds.

    Note: Moving images will be softer than still images.


Playing Back Moving Images


  1. Set PLAY/STILL/MOVIE sliding switch to PLAY.
    The last recorded image (still or moving) appears on the LCD screen. The image recorded in "MOVIE" mode is displayed one-size smaller than the normal-sized images.

  2. link Press the up arrow on the control button to display the menu
    bar on the LCD screen.

  3. Select the desired moving image with the control button. Selecting Index in the menu will bring up forward and reverse buttons on the LCD screen. Press the up arrow on the control button. The left and right control button arrows can now be used to move through the images.

  4. Select the playback button on the LCD screen (located above the forward and reverse buttons), then press the center of the control button to select. The moving image and sound start.
