Integrating Technology in Education

Dr. Blanche O'Bannon

Department of Instructional Technology, Health, and Cultural Studies

Do you want to use more technology in your courses, but aren't sure how to get started? Maybe you know what you want, but just don't have the time to convert your existing materials? Dr. Blanche O'Bannon had the same concern. Dr. O'Bannon has been a professor at the University of Tennessee since 2000. She has more than 50 Publications and presentations, and has been awarded more than $3,000,000 in grants. She believes "we owe it to the students on this campus to teach with technology if it enhances the learning: And I think that's the way that we get them to think it's the norm, rather than something unusual, is that they see us model it, all the time. "

Dr. O'Bannon guides teachers to infuse technology into their curriculum by using new features in Online@UT, along with maintaining Web-based modules for reference by anyone who has an Internet connection. To find out more about how she got started with Online@UT and what else she's working on, you can watch the video, read the video transcript, or read the transcript of the entire interview.

And while you're here...check out our former spotlights. They still shine a bright light on ideas that might work for YOU!
