How Dr. John Koontz uses clickers, Online@UT (Blackboard) and LiveOnline@UT (Centra) to engage students.

Professor
Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology

Dr. John Koontz is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology.  He currently teaches the upper division BCMB 401 and 402 sequence.  He was an early adopter of the eInstruction CPS "clickers" to increase student engagement in large lecture classes and is participating in a pilot of the Turning Point clickers.  Dr. Koontz also uses many of the content delivery and interaction tools available in the Online@UT (Blackboard) system, and provides students audio and video recordings of classroom lectures using LiveOnline@UT (Centra)



In this Spotlight, Dr. Koontz shares some of his thoughts and observations on enhancing access to course materials and increasing student engagement through technology.
