Academic Podcasting: Classrooms without borders

This special fall Spotlight is on two faculty members who use one technology tool, podcasting, in very different ways to accomplish very different objectives. Listen as Barbara Dewey, Dean of Libraries, and Rich Neubert, Lecturer in Management, describe how and why they chose podcasting, and the results they obtained.

Using Podcasts to Bring Guest Speakers into the Classroom

In this short five minute interview, Dr. Barbara Dewey describes how she used podcasting to get the voices of more experts into the classroom for the benefit of her Academic Libraries students. In the complete interview, Dean Dewey talks about her experience learning to create the podcasts and her views on the potential of rich media for archiving and preservation, increasing student engagement, enhancing access to resources, and extending the boundaries of the university.
