People arrive at technology from a variety of backgrounds and circuitous paths. Dr. William Conwill of the College of Education is no exception. He joined the University in the fall of 1999 as an assistant professor, with a focus on preparing students for counseling positions in the mental health field.
One of his first actions was to apply for the Teaching with Technology grant last spring. One requirement of the grant was to take ten hours of training in order to enhance basic technology skills. He chose to take as many technology courses as he could cram into that one small summer.
Through the Faculty First program, he created a Mental Health Consultation module in the form of a PowerPoint presentation designed to serve as a reciprocal teaching method for relating class lectures to assignments for Mental Health students learning the consultation process.
