Open House - September 9th
UT Faculty and staff are invited to visit the Kingston Pike Building, the new home for many IT services, including the Innovative Technology Center (ITC), on Tuesday, September 9 from 3 – 5 p.m. Come see the setting for most of IT on campus. Project Rite Information Session
Interested in how instructional technology affects student learning? Would you like to conduct your own research in this area? Please join us from 3-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23 in the Kingston Pike Building Training Room for a Project RITE (Research of Instructional Technology in Education) Info Session. You’ll hear from past grant recipients about their projects and learn about the RITE 09 application process.
 
2009 Project RITE proposal are due on October 6. You may access the Call for Proposals online.

Photo Roster
student photosPut A Face With That Name...  We are pleased to introduce, this fall semester, the new Photo Roster in Online@UT. You may access the the photo roster in the same manner that you accessed the previous roster. From the control panel of your course site, simply click on the UTK Photo Roster link. You'll see the same familiar roster layout with thumbnail photos of each student enrolled in your course.

Grade CenterYou have no doubt seen the changes in the Online@UT Grade Center. The old GradeBook just isn't what she used to be. The addition of a multitude of new features and functions have created a more robust and user-friendly interface. We encourage you to view the online tutorials and support materials found at Online@UT.

ITC ServicesIf you've always wanted to incorporate a new idea into your course, but are not quite sure how to make it work or lack the time to implement it, ask us to help. We'll partner with you on preparing your class for fall, whether it's creating an individual learning element or assistance with structuring a whole course in Blackboard.

Asking for assistance is easy. To begin the process, launch the online request form.

The 220 respondents to the 2008 Faculty Instructional Technology survey reported high levels of awareness (~95%) and current use (~69%) of the Online@UT/Blackboard course management system, with approximately 80% of user respondents indicating that they were either satisfied or very satisfied with both the product itself and the support provided by ITC staff. The most frequent uses of Online@UT, all of which were done on at least a weekly basis by over 65% of respondents, were to communicate via email, post course materials, and post announcements.

UT display sign for KPBThe Innovative Technology Center has completed its move from the 4th floor of Dunford Hall to the Kingston Pike Building, located at 2309 Kingston Pike, next to Tyson Park.

Anyone with a valid UT parking tag can park in the lot...and there are plenty of spaces!

Come visit us in our new location at your convenience, or invite us to meet with you in your office.

You can also drop by the 2nd floor of Hodges Library in the Commons North, where we're available for consultation Monday through Friday.
